Our policies
Quality Policy
Leroy Excavations is committed to delivering high-quality products and services through a Quality Management System certified to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2016.
Our objective is to consistently deliver projects on time, on budget and to specification while meeting client expectations. Customer concerns are treated as non-conformances and addressed promptly — resolved within seven days where possible. Performance is measured through client satisfaction, repeat business and timely account payments.
Ongoing internal and external audits, management reviews and customer feedback support continuous improvement of the system. Our goal is to be recognised as a leading provider of excavation services and plant hire.
WHS Policy
Leroy Excavations is committed to eliminating risks and hazards to provide and maintain a safe, healthy workplace for all staff, contractors and the public — providing sufficient resources and training to comply with the WHS Act & Regulations 2011.
Key objectives include: setting and monitoring health & safety objectives aimed at eliminating workplace injury; safety induction and training for all employees and contractors; clear procedures and well-maintained equipment; programs to identify, evaluate and control hazards; reporting and investigation of all incidents; management accountability for implementation; and keeping employees up to date through internal toolbox meetings. Employees share responsibility to control risk and report all incidents.
Environmental Policy
Leroy Excavations applies a systematic approach to controlling pollution of the environment, with resources made available to comply with all relevant Acts and Regulations.
Employees are responsible for ensuring awareness of and compliance with environmental obligations, keeping their workplace free from pollution, and controlling or treating refuse and waste. Management provides services in an environmentally responsible manner, identifies and conforms to legislative requirements, consults authorities on waste disposal, implements safe systems and correct disposal procedures, runs preventive maintenance and awareness programs, minimises noise and chemical usage, and protects soils and waterways from contamination — all with a commitment to continual improvement.
Fatigue Management Policy
Leroy Excavations manages fatigue to comply with the NSW WHS Regulations 2011 by engaging only safe hours of work and allowing sufficient rest and recuperation.
Employees are educated to recognise the signs of fatigue — tired eyes, frustration, loss of concentration, headaches, yawning and poor judgement — in themselves and others. All employees are responsible for attending work fit for duty: obtaining sufficient continuous sleep, working within time limits, taking short breaks, managing health factors and avoiding alcohol and drugs before work. Anyone unfit due to fatigue should advise their supervisor immediately.
Drug & Alcohol Policy
To provide a safe working environment, employees are expected to report to work with a blood alcohol concentration below 0.02% and drug levels below the cut-offs in Australian Standard AS/NZS 4308.
The policy promotes a safe workplace and low-risk use, supports employee health and welfare, reduces drug- and alcohol-related costs, and provides information on counselling and rehabilitation referral. Alcohol and illicit drugs are not permitted on company premises, vehicles or machinery. Employees on prescription medication that may affect alertness must notify their supervisor. Non-compliance is treated as a serious breach of company policy.
Harassment & EEO Policy
Leroy Excavations is committed to a work environment where employees are valued, treated fairly and recognised for their contribution, fostering good working relationships.
In accordance with Federal and State law, the company provides equal employment opportunity without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, colour or any disability or impairment — extending to hiring, promotion, compensation, training and leave. Any breach of the anti-discrimination policy is treated as a serious offence with immediate action. Harassment should be reported to management, who take all cases seriously and act appropriately.
